Entry Level .NET Developer Wanted at Tek Systems

Job Description:
This company in Springfield, MA is looking for an entry level .NET developer with some C#.NET experience. They would like someone who is entry level but has some internship/externship experience and a 4 year college degree.
This candidate will be joining a small IT shop with 1 other developer (Current TEKsystems Contractor). They will be doing mostly new development in both C# as well as SharePoint (MOSS 2007) development. While they do not need to have experience with SharePoint, that would be a plus.
They have about 175 end users (mostly engineers) who are using the SharePoint site that this candidate will be developing. This SP site will house everything from blueprints, contracts, job sites and any other information that the engineers need.

In addition, the developer will be working with new customers. As they take on new customers, the developers open up SharePoint portals for their use that show them how their project is going.

Additional Job Info:
We have one current contractor on the development team. We also have an additional desktop support candidate on the infrastructure side. While this is initially a 6 month contract, the possibility to go very long term contract or even full time is there.

Top 3 Skills (stack ranked) :
1.) A college degree in a computer science related field.

2.) Class room training OR internship/externship experience with general programming concepts including C#, ASP.NET AND Visual Studio 2008.

3.) Very strong customer services AND interpersonal skills.

mZeal Communications Seeks MS/PhD Grad for Data Mining Project

We have a potential opening at mZeal to support our customer at Govt site. The candidate must be a US Citizen with following experience, MS or Ph.D, who is living in MD or willing to relocate to MD (Baltimore) / DC belt. A PhD and/or a Post Doc may be a really good fit.

Required Criteria

Criterion A: At least seven (7) years of experience in research and development of analytics and of data mining and information retrieval algorithms including: feature extraction, classification algorithms, machine learning algorithms, clustering algorithms, statistical analysis, and data representation.

Criterion B: Within the last seven (7) years, at least five (5) years demonstrated experience developing, designing, coding, testing and debugging machine learning technologies.

Criterion C: At least four (4) years demonstrated experience developing, designing, coding, testing, and debugging with Python, C++, and/or Java in both Linux and Windows environments.

Desired Criteria (In Descending Order of Importance)

Criterion D: Demonstrated experience working in cyber security and computer security domains.

Computational Biology Undergraduate Employment Opportunity

Research project to develop new cancer biomarkers. The student will help discover and test gene and microRNA expression signatures using classification approaches such as SVM to identify patients with good
and poor outcomes. We will try to improve our current our ovarian cancer gene signature and test if this signature can be applied to other cancers. We will develop approaches to combine microRNA and mRNA
data to test if specific regulatory pathways are associated with patient outcomes. I am looking for a computational biology oriented undergraduate student with programming skills. Familiarity with R will

The University of Rhode Island invites applications for two or more tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Computer Science and Statistics in the college of Arts and Sciences (A&S). We are seeking candidates who can contribute to teaching and interdisciplinary research in statistics and/or informatics.

One position balances statistics teaching with collaborative research opportunities. A second position provides reduced statistics teaching responsibilities with more emphasis on collaborative research with investigators in The College of the Environment and Life Sciences (CELS). There is potential for a third bioinformatics position with emphasis on collaborative research with URI NSF EPSCoR scientists, and NIH INBRE (College of Pharmacy – COP) scientists.

Duties: Conduct research, obtain external research funding, and participate in interdisciplinary research across colleges including A&S, CELS, COP, and Graduate School of Oceanography; contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses; advise graduate students.

SOFTWARE ENGINEERS

Work with development teams in all phases of the software development life cycle to build applications used by military pilots and mission planners.

Participate in architectural software design decisions and assist in the development of requirements related documentation.
